I have polka dot mugs in my own kitchen in pink, blue and black and whilst I desperately wanted the Cath Kidston ones, I knew my own near identical mugs at £1 were too good a bargain to miss. They aren't available anymore but I have found some competively priced mugs in Sainsbury's Tu range at £1.49 each in pink or chocolate. This Cath Kidson set with a curved lip sells for £20 for four or a single mug costs £7.

These multi-coloured wooden ball clocks are really fun. Originally designed by American modernist George Nelson who worked with Herman Miller amongst other design greats, knock offs are all over the place and you can pick them up for a song if you don't mind reproductions (I don't so long as they're good quality and don't try and pass themselves off as the real thing).
If you want 'genuine reproduction' try Vitra who still make the clocks from Nelson's original designs. Otherwise, on the left we've got the expensive repro at £77.99 whilst on the right is Matalan's C&J version for a mere £20.
Vases are an easy way to add colour to your home even without adding flowers. The red of these two will certainly make an impact and the glass bases are fab. The LSA at Heals version is £53.83 whilst Asda's curvier design is just £7.

The prints on these tableware items are so similar that it's not hard to guess who has copied whom. Seasoned Orla Kiely fans will instantly recognise the cross hatch stem mug on the left, which comes in brown or blue at £7.85 each. I really hope this type of lamp enjoys some longevity. The glass ball stacks have really captured my imagination ever since they started appearing a year or two ago and they are so much more interesting than a straight up-and-down lamp base, don't you think?
The purple base and black silk shade is on sale at £69.68 (down from £87.10) from Graham&Green whilst the equally elegant clear glass and organza shade is from Next for £40.

I always feel slightly disorientated when I don't know the time yet I have few clocks in the house. One of these cream ones would be great though. Can you guess which one is the plastic made model at £7.83 and which one is the £63.62 steel version?
I've seen a few cushions out now with rose petal style shapes but prices wildly vary. Pretty though, aren't they? So much more interesting than your standard flat panel cushion. However, I think you might want to stick to only one or two on the sofa or just one on an armchair to stop it looking like fluffy overload. The red felt one is my expensive option at £26.41 (on sale) from Laura Ashley whilst the budget version is the equally pretty grey version at just £8.98 from B&Q.
Black accessories don't have to mean Gothic or cheap black ash furniture. Instead, as these chandeliers show they can be opulent, glamorous and rather decadent plus there are chandeliers to suit every budget. The Lolita chandelier with jet black crystals on the left is £175 from Bombay Duck (and those red shoes? Want!) whilst the glossy Marie Therese chandelier on the right is £52.99 at Homebase.
'Reclaimed' is one of those words used to spice up an old piece of, well, anything and make it sound significantly more exciting. So, you won't be surprised to find that the chair on the left, made from reclaimed yardsticks and crates is £199 at Pedlars. But if you want virtually the same thing for £s less, take a look at the Ikea 'Kaustby' option. It comes in antique stain (shown) and dark brown for just £35.
